Privacy Policy
Graham Piano Tuning, Orem, Utah. Last updated September 2026.
This policy covers grahampianotuning.com and the information Michael Graham collects while tuning and repairing pianos. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we collect
When you book an appointment we ask for your name, phone number, email address, the address where the piano is, and a few details about the piano itself: type, brand, when it was last tuned, and anything you want us to know before the visit. We also ask how you heard about us, and who referred you if someone did, because referrals earn that person a discount.
We do not ask for anything else, and there is nothing on this site that follows you around the internet or builds a profile of you.
Two parts of the site are loaded from other companies and follow their own privacy policies: the service area map comes from Google My Maps, and the customer reviews come from Google through Elfsight. Both may set cookies in your browser when the page loads. Neither one receives anything you type into our booking form.
What we do with it
- Schedule and carry out your appointment, and put it on Michael's calendar so the day can be routed sensibly.
- Send you a confirmation, a reminder before the visit, and a note when your piano is about due again.
- Keep a service history, so the next tuning starts from what the piano needed last time.
- Take payment, when you choose to pay online rather than at the appointment.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it. We do not send marketing on behalf of anyone else.
Text messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as the messaging provider that delivers our texts, is permitted solely to deliver those messages. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Texts are optional. You choose whether to receive them with a checkbox when you book, and booking works exactly the same either way. You can stop them at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by calling or texting us. Full details are in our Messaging Terms.
Who else sees your information
A few services do specific jobs for us. Each one sees only what it needs:
- Google Calendar holds your appointment, including the address, so Michael knows where to drive.
- Stripe handles online payments. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems; we only ever see a receipt reference.
- Resend delivers our email.
- Twilio delivers our text messages.
- Elfsight displays our Google reviews on the home page. It loads from Google's servers when you view that page.
The address suggestions in our booking form are not one of these. They are answered by our own server from a copy of Utah's public address list, so what you type in that box goes to us and to nobody else. That list is Utah Address Points, published by the Utah Geospatial Resource Center under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.
We will also hand over information if the law requires it, which has never happened.
Counting visits
We count how many people open each page, which step of the booking form they reach, and which buttons get pressed, so we can see where the site confuses people and fix it. No cookies, no advertising, no names, no IP addresses, and nothing shared with anyone: the counts sit on our own machine and are deleted after six months. If your browser says Do Not Track, we do not count you at all.
Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps basic traffic figures for the site. Those are counts too, with no cookies and no profile of you.
We also run a small Google Ads campaign, and to know whether it is worth paying for we use Google Analytics to count how many people who arrived from an ad went on to book. It sets a cookie so Google can tell the visit and the booking are the same person. We have turned off Google's advertising signals and ad personalization for this site, and it is not loaded at all if your browser says Do Not Track.
Google account access
This site signs in to Google Calendar only for Michael's own work calendars, so it can avoid booking you on top of an appointment he already has. It reads when those calendars are busy and adds a short hold for your visit. It never asks for your Google account, and what it reads from Google is used for scheduling only: it is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone. Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
Service history is kept for as long as you are a customer, because a piano's history is genuinely useful years later. Ask us to delete your record and we will, apart from anything we have to keep for tax purposes.
Keeping it safe
Customer records live in one database that is not reachable from the public site. Reaching it requires a password and a second factor from an authenticator app, and only Michael has those.
Children
This is a service for piano owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Ask us anything
