All is not lost, your piano will most likely need something called, "Pitch Raise" also known as "Pitch Correction/Adjustment".

A pitch raise is needed before we tune a piano. Generally if its been more than 3 years. However the PR will be much more minor in a 3-5 year period.

What is a Pitch Raise?

The process is done differently than a standard tuning as we start in the center of the piano. We work our way up and down the piano adjusting the piano wires in increments to the A440 standard pitch. This also will reduce breakage of wires. However, wire break whether we are as careful as possible.

Now with a piano that has not been tuned in more than 10 years. The piano will most likely need 2 sessions of Pitch Raising (Especially if strings are rusting/rusted). So the Pitch Raising will be charged at a 75$ rate. This second session includes the trip fee.

Reason why 2 sessions is so the piano strings, frame, sound board can move and settle. If PR was done in one session piano strings will break adding more cost.

If your piano needed a "Pitch Raise" or "Pitch Correction". 

• Some piano pins may slip back out of tune or strings may of stretched more than predicted. 

• Weather or major humidity change. (ex. A carpet cleaning, painting walls, or piano painting/refinishing)

• Some pianos frame or sound board; if cracked, can cause the piano to fall out of tune faster.

If your piano did not need a "Pitch Raise" or "Pitch Correction".

• Weather or major humidity change. (ex. A carpet cleaning, painting walls, or piano painting/refinishing)

Please clear piano off before appointment. No need to move piano from wall on cleanings. 

Please give the piano at least 2 weeks to acclimate to the new location. If moved from a humid climate to dry climate. Piano may need 3-4 weeks. If you have any other questions, let us know!
