Tuning
Most people want this one. A full tuning to concert pitch, the pitch raise included whatever shape the piano is in, and small repairs handled while Michael is there. Tax is in the price and you pay at the appointment.

Cleaning
A cleaning-only visit includes the drive out. Add the cleaning to a tuning in the same visit and it costs less, because the trip is already paid for.
Want both in one visit anyway? The Complete Package is a tuning and a full cleaning together, with half an hour of repair time on top.
What a cleaning includes
When tuning is not enough
Repairs
Broken strings, and the deeper work a piano needs when tuning alone stops being the answer: voicing for the tone, regulation for how the keys feel.
Voicing
changes the tone, not the pitch
- Brighter or mellower
- Quoted once Michael hears it
Regulation
uprights 1.5 to 2.5 hrs · grands 4 to 6
- How the keys feel under the hand
- Quoted after he sees the action
Good to know about string repairs
- New strings stretch, so the first touch-up visit is free
- Touch-ups after that carry a $25 callback charge
that is for the return visit, and is not the distance trip charge

Assessments
Sometimes the question is not "can you tune it" but "is this piano worth it". Michael looks it over where it stands and writes up what he finds, as a PDF you can keep and hand to whoever is deciding.
Condition Report
for a piano you already own
- Every section checked and rated
- A prioritized list of work with prices
- Written up and emailed as a PDF
Pre-Purchase Inspection
at the seller's, before money moves
- What it needs and what that costs
- A plain answer on whether to buy it
- Written up and emailed as a PDF
We do not appraise pianos. An assessment says what condition it is in and what the work would cost, not what the instrument is worth. Why, and who to ask instead.
